We have some amazing wakeboarding talent joining us for Waterways Ireland’s Docklands Summer Festival this year. There will be on the water displays running all day on Saturday and this year Sunday will see our International Wakeboarding Extravaganza taking place in Grand Canal Dock.
Visiting wakeboarding royalty for the festival includes:
Carro Djupsjö is 23 years old and has clocked up numerous wins in her 8 year career as an athlete. The Swedish wakeboarder came 3rd in last year’s world championships and 5th in The World Games. She was National Champion in her native Sweeden for 5 consecutive years and came first in The Europe Africa Championships in 2010 and 2012. She sustained a knee injury in 2012 in The World Cup and was out of action for a while. We’re delighted she will be joining us at Docklands Summer Festival!
Jorge Gill is a pro rider from London. Jorge discovered wakeboarding in 2006 and began competing in 2007. He has represented his country at six European Championships and at three World Championships. We are delighted that Jorge is taking part in this years Docklands Summer Festival and we hope he enjoys his stay.
British wakeboarder Megan Barker represented her country on Team GBR in the 2012 Olympics where she picked up a gold medal. She was born in 1993 and has been riding for 10 years. She has been British National Champion and National Junior Champion. We’re thrilled that she can join us on the water for The Docklands Summer Festival.
David O’Caoimh is from Dublin and is currently focusing on finishing University. He started waterskiing at 4 years of age and at 10 moved on to wakeboarding. David has 10 years wakeboarding experience and has won numerous championships, including the Irish National Championship in 2014. We hope David enjoys taking part in The Docklands Summer Festival.
Loes Linders, born in 1988 is a Dutch wakeboarder who started her career, age 6, as an elite gymnast. Loes started to snowboard and wakeboard in 2009 and has been Netherlands National Wakeboard Champion. We’re delighted she can join us for The Docklands Summer Festival.
Aisling Deegan is 16 years old and from Dublin. When Aisling was just 7 years old she made her debut onto the Irish competition scene. In 2010 she competed in her first international competition, Topolino in Italy, where she placed 4th. Aisling is now a prominent face on the Irish wakeboarding scene and with her consistent high performance level and determination, she earned her place on the Irish Wakeboarding Team. We are thrilled to have Aisling taking part in this years Docklands Summer Festival!
JB O’Neill is a pro wakeboarder from Texas. He has been wakeboarding for ten years. This is JB’s first visit to Ireland, we hope he enjoys his stay and particularly his time at The Docklands Summer Festival.
